Decentralized Finance Explained

What is decentralized finance?

Decentralized finance, commonly called DeFi, refers to blockchain-based financial applications that can provide functions such as trading, lending, borrowing, and asset management through smart contracts. DeFi can reduce reliance on traditional intermediaries, but it introduces unique risks involving code, governance, liquidity, oracle systems, market volatility, and regulatory uncertainty.
